FRCs are currently defined in California State Statute under SB 436. CFRA's 2026 policy advocacy puts forth SB 557 to update and align with the National FRC definition (42 U.S.C. § 629a).

The National Network

The National Family Support Network (NFSN) is a member network of FRCs and associations across the country. As a member, CFRA stays connected to NFSN for practices and policies at a national level that directly support the enhancement of FRCs in California. CFRA coordinates training and implementation of the NFSN Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support across California FRCs.
