CFRA supported legislation covering not just agencies called FRCs, but any organization doing the same work. It passed unanimously in the Assembly and Senate and unlocked state funding, including $16 million in COVID-19 relief that CFRA distributed to FRCs, with a current push for $25 million more.

CFRA supported amendments that exempted financial hardship from the legal definition of child neglect, so families experiencing poverty get connected to community resources instead of the child welfare system

SB 557 updated California's definition of Family Resource Centers to align with the national definition, strengthening the state's ability to leverage potential future federal funding for FRCs.
